Bitcoin DCA tracker
Stack sats with a system, not a mood.
HodlHabit is a Bitcoin DCA tracker and rule builder: see every purchase on one chart, buy on schedule, and buy more when Bitcoin trades below its long-term models.
Free tracker, builder and backtests. No custody, ever — HodlHabit never holds your Bitcoin.
Dollar-cost averaging (DCA): buying a fixed amount of Bitcoin on a regular schedule.
You buy more when the price is low and less when it’s high, which smooths your average cost.

What you get
Everything in one place
A tracker that shows the whole position, a builder that turns instinct into rules, and execution that stays inside limits you set.
The Orange Dots chart
Every purchase you have ever made, sized by how much you bought, plotted against Bitcoin's price. One picture of your whole position.
Power Law and 200-week models
See how far price sits from Bitcoin's long-term trend and its 200-week average — the same deviation your rules can act on.
Dynamic DCA builder and backtests
Compose rules that buy more when Bitcoin is cheap against those models, then test them against a decade of history before you commit a cent.
Automated execution, with brakes
Dry-run first, then live within limits you set: a maximum order size, a daily cap, and a kill switch. An order that would breach a limit is skipped, never shrunk.
Exchange auto-sync
New spot trades land on your chart by themselves, so your portfolio stays current without another CSV export.
Discipline score, goals and a weekly email
A measure of how consistently you actually stick to your plan, the goals you set, and a Monday summary of where you stand.
How it works
Three steps, then it runs itself
Bring your history
Import a CSV from any of 11 exchanges, or add purchases by hand. Your existing stack appears on the chart immediately — no connection required.
Build your strategy
Start from a preset or compose your own rules, then backtest them against a decade of Bitcoin's history to see how they would have behaved.
Let it run
Dry-run your strategy until you trust it. Where automated buying is available to you, it then executes on your own exchange, inside your own limits, and every buy lands on your chart and in your inbox.

Basics
What is HodlHabit?
A Bitcoin dollar-cost-averaging tracker and strategy tool. Import your purchases, see every one of them on a single chart against Bitcoin's price and its long-term models, and build a rule set that decides how much to buy and when. Where it is available to you, HodlHabit can also place those buys on your own exchange.
Is it free?
Yes. The tracker, the Dynamic DCA builder and backtests are free forever, along with 1 exchange connection, 1 automated strategy and live buys up to $25 per rolling 7 days. Pro lifts the spending cap and adds more connections, more automations and exchange auto-sync.
Which exchanges can execute buys?
Kraken, Coinbase and Binance. You connect a trade-only API key that cannot withdraw, and every strategy runs in dry-run first — it will not place a real order until you have seen a clean dry-run and typed a confirmation. You can import purchases by CSV from nine more exchanges.
Which exchanges can I import from?
CSV imports cover 11 exchanges, and you can always add purchases and sales by hand. If your file is in a layout HodlHabit does not recognise yet, it will try to map the columns for you and remember the format.
Is this financial advice?
No. HodlHabit is a tool, not an adviser. It does not know your circumstances and does not recommend that you buy or sell anything. Bitcoin is volatile and you can lose money — see the risk disclosure in our Terms.
Dynamic DCA and automation
What is Dynamic DCA?
Ordinary DCA buys the same amount on a fixed schedule. Dynamic DCA keeps the schedule but varies the amount according to rules you set — for example, buying more when Bitcoin trades below its long-term models and less when it trades above them. You compose the rules; nothing is decided for you.
What are the Power Law and 200-week models?
Both are statistical descriptions of Bitcoin's past price. The power law fits a long-run trend line; the 200-week moving average is a slow-moving floor many long-term holders watch. HodlHabit uses how far price sits from them as a signal you can build rules around. They describe history — they do not forecast it, and they can be wrong for long stretches.
Is a backtest a prediction?
No. A backtest applies your rules to historical prices with the benefit of hindsight. It shows how a strategy would have behaved, not how it will behave. Past performance does not indicate future results.
What is a dry run?
A rehearsal. HodlHabit evaluates your strategy and validates the order with your exchange without placing it, so you can see exactly what would have been bought. A strategy has to complete a clean dry run before it can go live.
What limits protect me?
Each connection has a maximum order size and a daily cap (defaults $250 and $500). On the free plan there is also a cap on live buys of $25 per rolling 7 days across all your connections. An order that would breach a limit is skipped entirely rather than shrunk, and it is recorded as blocked. You can turn execution off at any time, and HodlHabit pauses a strategy after repeated errors.
What happens if my exchange balance is empty?
The order is rejected by the exchange, HodlHabit records the failure in your execution log, and nothing else happens. It will try again at the next scheduled run. HodlHabit never borrows, never uses margin, and never moves money between accounts.
Security and custody
Do you need my exchange API keys?
Only if you want HodlHabit to place your buys or sync your trades. Tracking by CSV import or manual entry needs no keys at all. When you do connect one, it must be a trade-only key with withdrawals disabled — and HodlHabit verifies that before storing anything.
Can HodlHabit withdraw or move my Bitcoin?
No. Keys that can withdraw are rejected outright, and if we cannot positively confirm a key cannot withdraw, it is rejected too — nothing is stored in either case. The software has no sell, transfer or withdrawal capability at all; those functions do not exist in the code.
Do you hold my Bitcoin?
Never. Your coins stay on your exchange or in your own wallet. HodlHabit is not a broker, an exchange, a wallet or a custodian, and it never takes possession of your funds.
How are my keys stored?
Each key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using its own freshly generated data key, and that data key is itself encrypted with a master key held outside the database — so a copy of the database alone reveals nothing. The encryption is bound to your account, the exchange and the specific connection. No signed-in client can read the encrypted columns; only the server functions that place a buy or sync trades can decrypt, and only for the moment they need it.
How do I revoke access?
Disconnect the exchange in HodlHabit, which destroys the stored key material immediately. Then delete the API key at your exchange as well — that is what fully revokes it, and it is the step only you can take.
Pricing
What does Pro add?
Pro removes the weekly cap on live buys entirely, raises you to 3 exchange connections and 5 automated strategies, and adds exchange auto-sync so new trades land on your chart by themselves. Everything in Free is included.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
What happens if Pro lapses?
Nothing is deleted and nothing you had running is switched off. Your account returns to the free limits: live buys are capped again at $25 per rolling 7 days, and exchange auto-sync stops at the next scheduled run. Strategies and connections you created on Pro keep working within those limits; you just cannot add new ones beyond the free allowance.
Do you charge trading fees?
No. Your exchange's own fees apply to every order. HodlHabit never holds funds and takes no cut of your buys.
Do you offer refunds?
See the billing section of our Terms. If something has gone wrong with a first purchase, email hello@hodlhabit.com within 14 days and we will put it right.
Your data
What does exchange auto-sync import?
Executed spot trades, read with a trade-only key. Purchases made with an exchange's instant-buy or convert features are not exposed by the trade APIs, so they will not appear — add those by hand or by CSV. Imported rows are a convenience, not an authoritative record; your exchange's own statements are.
What about taxes?
HodlHabit shows realised profit and loss on sales using an average-cost basis. That is one accounting method among several, and it may not be the one your jurisdiction requires. We do not provide tax advice — take your figures to someone who does.
Where is my data stored, and do you sell it?
In a managed Postgres database with row-level security, so one account cannot read another's. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. Our Privacy Policy lists every processor and exactly what each one receives.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email hello@hodlhabit.com and we will do it. Being straightforward: there is no self-service delete button yet. Removing an upload deletes its transactions straight away; the uploaded file is kept for 60 days and then deleted automatically, or sooner if you ask. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is kept and for how long.
Which currencies are supported?
You can display your portfolio in a range of quote currencies. Amounts are stored in USD as the unit of account, and your display currency is a lens applied when figures are shown.
Your next buy is already scheduled.
Bring your history, write the rules once, and stop deciding week by week.
